A successful entrepreneur wears several hats – bookkeeper, shareholder, purchaser, manager and CEO, to name a few. With the numerous challenges of juggling all of these roles and responsibilities, many female entrepreneurs often find the process of growing a new business a roller-coaster ride beleaguered with isolation and frustration. It's lonely at the top, and many women business owners don't know anyone they can ask for advice to deal with challenges and expand their businesses.

In 1992, a group of women entrepreneurs created Step Ahead to address this problem. Protégées in our program are enormously relieved when we introduce them to someone they can talk to, someone who will understand and help them identify growth strategies.






Step Ahead is a not-for-profit volunteer business mentoring organization that matches women entrepreneurs looking to expand their businesses with experienced mentors, who have already taken their businesses through a growth cycle.

Potential protégées can apply for acceptance into the 12-month Step Ahead Mentoring Program at any time during the course of the year and begin attending at the start of a quarter. The program includes a year-long one-on-one mentoring relationship with an assigned mentor and 10 educational workshops.
