Step Ahead is a Toronto-based, not-for-profit volunteer organization providing mentoring and practical learning for women business owners. Uniquely focused on business development for women by women, the year-long mentoring program provides protégées with a one-on-one match-up with seasoned, successful women entrepreneurs. It also includes quality programming through monthly workshops, roundtable discussions and networking for women entrepreneurs with businesses on the cusp of growth.

Potential protégées can apply for acceptance into the 12-month Step Ahead  Mentoring Program at any time during the course of the year. The program includes a year-long one-on-one mentoring relationship with an assigned mentor and 10 educational workshops.

After 15 years of mentoring women entrepreneurs, the Step Ahead Program is being revamped to deliver even more in-depth learning opportunities than ever before.

• This one-year program pairs protégées who want to grow their business with seasoned mentors who have taken their businesses through successful growth cycles.
• 10 formal in-class sessions cover all the pillars of growing a successful business, from fine-tuning your business plan to sales, marketing, operations and finance.
• Informal monthly meetings with your mentor provide a private one-on-one opportunity for you to learn from your mentor’s experience.
• Group meetings provide access both to a range of other mentors whose broad expertise you can tap into and to like-minded women entrepreneurs who share similar aspirations, challenges and goals.

While the program lasts one year, the benefits for mentors and protégées, both tangible and intangible, extend well beyond.
